Justin Ripley

Whoever Justin Ripley is, he is terrible at advertising his own works. He emailed me last week sending a sweet song called "Europeans" and his MySpace link with a message: "Pedram! This shit doesn't suck!" When I saw his space, there were almost no helping data on him. He had merely sent his works and his tour dates. But the song touched me somewhere. It sounded like My Morning Jacket's Jim James putting his own signature on a Neil Young hit and making the best out of it. So he made me mail him back asking for some clarifications! He looks like an easy guy and he adores his wife. And he told me he's a live sound engineer and home recording enthusiast who lives in Seattle.

The reason? To perform live the best of the 90 or so songs he has written and recorded since last August. OK. and how is he doing this precisely? His friends Zach, Scott, Derek, & Allen (Boo and Boo Too, Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk, Blood On The Wall, Rooftop Vigilantes) are helping add courage to the songs. And one of them has a van! Well thanks Justin! That was comprehensive enough! Hey! Put some effort into it brother! This song sounds promising.

But then I saw he has also attached another work to the mail claiming he had tossed it off in a few hours yesterday. But here's the song I just said. He doesn't have a picture on his space, only a profile one.
